Varsity Scouts

Varsity Scout teams are for boys ages 14 through 17. It is an official part of the Boy Scouts of America. The adult leader is called the Varsity Coach and the youth leader is the Varsity Captain. They wear the standard uniform and have a Varsity strip above the right pocket. They can earn Boy Scout merit badges and advancement, plus they also can work on high adventure programs and sports to earn a Varsity Letter, gold bars, and pins. The highest award in Varsity Scouts is the Denali Award. The Varsity program is commonly found in LDS-sponsored units where it matches the ages of their Teachers' quorum. Many recreation centers have also adopted Varsity Scouting. Often the boys and leaders may be dual registered in multiple units. Boys may enjoy the older-boy team programs more than the regular Boy Scouting structure.

This book does not cover Varsity Scouting specifically. Nevertheless, Varsity Scouts pursuing the Eagle can follow this book.
