Complete the Application and Submit the Paperwork
The Eagle application should be completed. It lists the dates when the boy became a Boy Scout (and Varsity Scout and Venturer if applicable), and passed his First Class Board of Review, Star Scout Board of Review, and Life Scout Board of Review. In addition, the scout lists the dates when the required and additional merit badges were earned and when positions of responsibility were held (while a Life Scout).
After getting the signatures from the Scoutmaster and committee chairman (indicating their approval and recommendation) on the application and the signatures from the Scoutmaster (again) and the representative of the group served by the Eagle project at the end of the workbook, these documents and the statement about himself should be promptly submitted to your local council service center. You may want to make photocopies as needed (such as new signed pages) before submitting.
The references listed on the application will be contacted.Footnote The contents of the application will be certified as accurate and it will be confirmed that the scout is a registered member of his unit.
In some cases, the paperwork may be returned due to bad appearance, spelling issues, messy, in pencil, incomplete, inaccurate, or simply not neat.
- ...Footnote
- The council will not delay a Board of Review if the board doesn't receive the references' letters.
