Patrol Meetings

Patrol meetings provide opportunities for small groups to do activities together and for more youth to practice leadership. Patrol meetings may be used for planning upcoming activities, such as making assignments for patrol members. The Patrol Leader directs the meeting and he or the assistant patrol leader may discuss advancements and provide a report from the PLC.

Many troops allocate time at troop meetings to also have a time specific for patrol meetings. (See the typical troop meeting in an upcoming section.) Troops may have the patrols meet on different nights or days, or even on Saturdays. Patrol meetings are usually held at least twice a month up to every week. The location may be provided by the sponsor or may be in the home of one the patrol members — or at other places.
